What is GMO-Free Portland and what does it offer you?
What: We list foods, stores, & restaurants for non-GMO eating, and provide support. Many people saying "no thank you" to GMOs on principle is key to this movement. Our aim is to make it much, much easier for others than it was for us.
Why: Once we found out about GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms, and the food made with genetic engineering by Monsanto, Bayer, Dow, DuPont & Syngenta) we wanted to stop the attack on our food, nature, and human rights. If people stop buying GMO, they will go away. If you're trying to stop eating GMOs, we're here for you.
Who: Authors of site: Ernie & Mary Nichols. We quit eating it in the Spring of 2009. Ernie's hay fever went from 4-5 miserable months to 3-7 bad days/year within the first 3 weeks of a non-GMO diet. By saying "no" to all GMO food offered to us, we accidentally impacted hundreds of people to learn about or stop eating GMOs while our own lives improved.
